Nice clean resort with several restaurant choices

Liked the layout. There were several choices of restaurants. Our family really enjoyed the ice cream shop and the restaurant down by the beach. The food was very good with lots of choices. Service at the restaurants was good. Although the pools were very clean, the temperature was a bit cold. Although the beach area is small, it is nice and swimmable. There are activities for kids such as bowling and a game room. The resort had an awesome New Year’s Eve celebration.

We were a family of 11 and several of the restaurants did not allow us to push our tables together. The pool areas had a limited number of bathrooms for example one bathroom for all the females.The pool area where we were, called the “Eden pool “ was not monitored carefully. My daughter-in-law got hit in the head by a water polo ball in the pool area. We also witnessed a young girl getting hit on another day with only the water polo goal area being moved down the pool versus being removed. Someone is going to get seriously hurt. My daughter-in-law could not go out to eat that night. Guests are required to pay upon check-in. I was not told that even though I had texted the resort that it was a Christmas present and I was paying for all of the rooms. We did not all arrive at the same time, and there was no budging by the resort, even when told by my children that parents were arriving shortly and would pay the whole bill. That was very upsetting for me upon arrival as the parent paying for the Christmas gift.

it was very nice, clean and well maintain. it was pretty cool to see a few animals just walking around. loved the Christmas spirit!

the only complaint is that the bed wasn't too comfortable

It was hard to go back to reality after this. We loved it here

The food was amazing, and the cocktails. We absolutely loved all the restaurants. Privilege lounge was surprisingly good. We also loved route 66 and La Locanda, and Margarita was fantastic. The vibe of the place was really lovely too. There was a coffee shop that was pretty decent that people hang out in the am. Get there smack on 730 - long lines in the early am. My toddler loved the animals. There are monkeys and turtles and Coati etc.

More food related content - Steakhouse was ok - not bad not great Everything was pretty good. I can’t really find anything to complain about.

Poor customer service (reception)

The pool for the kids. Mostly pretty nice staff.

We are still waiting for a factura, for weeks already. This is poor customer service. We requested it already during the stay from the reception. For hotels of this category this is usually a total standard procedure.....

Wonderful

Staff was great, food was amazing except steak house. Online concierge Piana Guevara was beyond exceptional. We had two birthdays and she helped us with anything we needed. Pools and wild life awesome.

Beach not such a great location. Also when we got to room some things were not very clean. We had to ask a few times for enough wash cloths. After they brought some we were great

Great family stay

This was our 4th time staying at Ocean Riviera Paradise… the food is always wonderful. Facilities are great and convenient. Not an overly huge hotel but has everything you need close by. Staff is wonderful Diego in Pez Vela always went out his way to make us feel like family. Rooms are wonderful, clean and comfortable. Pools are awesome. Alot of activities for the kids. Nightly shows were fantastic.

The only reason it wasn’t a perfect stay was because of the lack of beach now. But it’s not the resorts fault… hurricane took back a lot of the beach back. Also wish they had more trollies to take people where they need to go. We spent alot of time always waiting on the trolley. Pool bar closes @6m even tho the pool is open till 8pm.

The bartenders were so fun and friendly. All areas of the resort including our rooms were extremely clean. The resort was large and offered a lot of different amenities. We felt super safe leaving the resort and going downtown playa

We had a good time, but I likely won’t return due to mediocre food, not enough loungers at the beach, eroding beach, and

I liked that there are lots of different things going on and things to do. I really enjoyed the pool so close to the ocean that I could hear the waves. Drinks were good. Staff in every dining situation were working hard to protect those with food allergies from being exposed to allergens.The trolley was helpful with some of our older friends. Some staff members worked hard to make the stay good. Our housekeeper kept us stocked with water per our request, and the room was clean. The grounds were kept clean.

The food is mediocre. The ice cream shop needs to be open earlier. The beach is sad— I don’t know what you can do about the erosion. I HATE the towel on the lounger system. There were some that only had towels on them all day long instead of people. I deeply resent the Privilege option. It makes divisions that are unnecessary. Also, who decided the Privilege bracelet needed to be white, as in White Privilege?? Staff was inconsistently attentive. We couldn’t get all 13 of us booked near each other. The ceiling fan in our room could not be adjusted to change the speed—the chain was completely gone. That was true in 3 different rooms in Eden.

Perfect for a beach vacation, really good food! The pictures don't do the hotel justice

I looked really hard through basically every hotel in the area of Playa del Carmen. It's hard to get a feeling for what is really a good place to stay at and what is not. Let me tell you - the Ocean Riviera Paradise definitely is a good place to stay! The pictures (I was told they were taken over 5 years ago) don't do the hotel justice. The food is amazing (!), the staff extremely friendly and there are plenty of pools where you can find a spot to relax. Also, when we were there (February) we didn't notice the children at all, even though that was something we were worried about. Getting to downtown Playa is a bit hard (taxi is minimum 20$ one way) but aside from that this hotel is great for a beach vacation. The gym is also great and the Margaritas are tasty. Though, I have to warn fellow Europeans here - the beer is very americanized and tastes bland. Big shoutout to Elias who was in charge of taking care of the guests at house no. 4. My family and I had a great time thanks to his assistance.

Not always easy to get to downtown Playa del Carmen. Also, they should get someone from Europe to teach the staff to be more efficient. It takes way too long to take away dirty plates and clean the tables. And it definitely is not the lack of staff (there is plenty) but because it appears there is a proper education and sense of efficiency missing.

Wonderful

The staff were amazing, and the facilities were good, if you’re looking for an all inclusive, then this one is great! I was there with a group and they chose this property. Highly recommend to upgrade yourself because the food in the privilege area as much better.

The food at regular restaurants was just OK to me.

Good value for money however not 5 stars but overall okay

There were plenty of options of pools and areas to sit. The staff were friendly and the weather was good in December. The rooms and communal areas were clean and comfortable.

The food was very average and the inclusive drinks were cocktail drinks which were very sweet.
